Senior Architect

Full Time

Lavigne Lonsdale is recruiting for an experienced Senior Architect. This is an exciting full-time opportunity to work within a well-established and highly regarded inter-disciplinary practice.

The successful applicant will work within the team at our Truro (Cornwall) Studio assisting with the development of the business and helping to generate and run a wide variety of projects including mixed-use urban regeneration masterplans, housing-led masterplans, health care, leisure, and cultural destination projects. Some experience in Conservation would be beneficial but a well-rounded architect with a willingness to work alongside other disciplines (masterplanning and landscape) is essential.

Our approach is contextual design- both contemporary but also traditional depending on the context. A whole-hearted buy into that approach is essential.

The ideal candidate will hold relevant qualifications (listed below), with a minimum of six years’ experience working in the sector. They will have excellent design and drawing skills, confident freehand drawing skills, and a passion for place-making, client satisfaction, and the environment.

As part of your role, you will work alongside the Company Director and Associates to provide a vital collaborative role in delivering a wide variety of projects. Key Requirements:

Qualifications: Relevant BA (Hons) and PG Dip or MA
Professional membership (ARB and RIBA)
6+ years minimum experience working in private and/or public sector
Experience working on large, medium and small scale commercial projects in the UK
A confident self-starter who is comfortable working alone and as part of a team
Able to demonstrate experience in running projects from concept stage through to completion with client and design team liaison
Capable of working on a varied portfolio of work
Proven ability to cope with dynamic deadlines and proven ability to manage project
Passionate about place-making and the environment;
Excellent design skills;
Confident freehand drawing skills;
Excellent graphic skills
Strong CAD skills in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Revit (preferable but not essential)
Solid technical capability and understanding of UK planning & building legislation
Good written English;
Confident verbal presentation skills
Willingness to learn and adopt new skills;
Be prepared to share daily office tasks including admin and general office duties;
Willingness to travel – including working from the Bath office on occasion.
