Lavigne Lonsdale is a multi-disciplinary design practice, which has developed over the last decade into a team capable of delivering solutions to complex built environment projects in a creative, practical and responsive way. 

We are a RIBA Chartered Practice, Registered Practice with the Landscape Institute, Member of the Urban Design Group and our Managing Director is a Recognised Practitioner in Urban Design.

As we also work closely with a number of related disciplines and consultants we are able to adapt and augment our services to meet the specific needs of every unique project.

Martyn has 25 years experience of providing masterplanning, urban design and landscape architectural services on large scale, award-winning projects. He is the founding Director of Lavigne Lonsdale and oversees both the Truro and Bath studios.

Non Executive Director

Peter has joined Lavigne Lonsdale as a non executive Director after working with LL as a consultant for over 20 years.


Peter is a qualified urban designer and architect with over 25 years of experience working as a masterplanner and design team leader in multi-disciplinary practices in the UK as well as extensive experience overseas (including projects in Bahrain, UAE, Oman, Jordan, Libya, Abu Dhabi, Jamaica, Hong Kong, India and Saudi Arabia).

Nick Fish

Associate Landscape Architect

Nick is an Associate at the practice and has been with the team for over 12 years. He is a highly skilled Landscape Architect and has worked on numerous award-winning projects. Landscape Architecture is Nick’s passion but works across the board to get involved with Masterplanning, Urban Design and Architectural projects to help mesh built form and external design. His work on Carbis Bay Hotel, Atlantic View and Heartlands are just a few projects which demonstrate this joined up design led approach.

With 35 years’ professional experience, Ali’s skills encompass the full spectrum of masterplanning, urban design and landscape architecture with an emphasis on intelligent planning and ‘place making’. She has an ability to sensitively unlock sites for development with specialist skills in LVIA, residential masterplanning and technical delivery. Having worked in the UK, Asia and Australia, Ali has a particular love and knowledge of plants from different climatic zones that can be used creatively in a range of projects.

Andrew is an Associate and joined Lavigne Lonsdale in 2014 from Grant Associates in Bath. He has a passion and skill in all aspects of the built and natural environment including architecture and urban design. His graphic ability ensures that our projects receive critical acclaim.


Mark Kingsley

Senior Architect

BA ( Hons) Architecture, PG Dip Arch, RIBA, MSc in Energy Efficient & Sustainable Building, BIAT

Mark is a very experienced qualified architect with over 25 years experience in the private sector. He has a Masters qualification is energy efficiency & sustainable buildings from Oxford and approaches all projects with a thorough understanding of sustainable principles of design and construction.  Mark has worked in both Bath and is now in the Truro studio.

Nick is a qualified landscape architect and has gained experience across landscape planning and design. He is a key member of the Landscape Architecture team delivering notable schemes across the South West.

Christian Brown

Christian has returned to the practice after completion of his Masters in Architecture at the WSA. He is working between the Truro and Bath Studios whilst simultaneously undertaking a PgDip in Landscape Architecture with additional modules in ‘Applied Conservation & Ecology’, and ‘Environmental Governance and Decision Making’, whilst working towards taking his Part 3.

Virginia Wylie

Practice Manager

Virginia joined the team in the May 2021 as Practice Manager. She has over fifteen years’ experience managing and leading teams as well as delivering award winning events. Virginia will be looking after all the HR, marketing, PR and administration needs of the business.


Jarad Gill

Jarad is a graduate from Falmouth University where he studied a bachelor’s degree in Architecture. Through his education at Falmouth and professional practice, Jarad has developed a strong sense of critical regionalism and having tectonics at the core of a design proposal. Jarad is currently undertaking a Master of Architecture to continue his progression to becoming a charted Architect.

Tom graduated from Sheffield Hallam University where he studied Architecture and discovered his passion for environmental design. He has joined the Truro office as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant. Tom is looking forward to undertaking his Part 2 studies in the future and furthering his understanding of environmental and sustainably focused architecture.

Freelance Part I Architectural Assistant

BEng Architecture & Environmental Engineering

Luke is a graduate of the University of the West of England where he studied Architecture and Environmental Engineering, a unique degree combining elements of sustainable engineering and architecture. He first began work for us at the Bath office, and subsequently moved to Truro to work as a part 1 Architectural Assistant. Luke hopes to progress towards his part 2 and looks to develop his skills in architecture and sustainability. Luke is now based remotely, but continues to work alongside the team on projects.
