Lavigne Lonsdale were chosen through competitive tender to carry out a masterplan for Falmouth Town centre which includes the Church Street car park/ waterfront. This is a complex site due to its history of contamination as an old gas works and its historic listings. The site is also very visible from the water and so a sensitive and contextual response was required. The scheme has been designed to RIBA Stage 1-2 in order to define scale, mass, use, floor areas, access (both on land and by water).

The scheme also involved the re-design of the public realm to the High Street to create spaces where people can relax and enjoy the commercial heart of the town and enable retailers to “hold and direct” visitors more readily.
