Lavigne Lonsdale, as part of a project team led by Mace, was appointed by Taunton Deane Borough Council to look at development options for the ‘Bohemian’ quarter of Taunton, known as Coal Orchard.

The Masterplan will include options for retail, residential, restaurants, cafes, bars, commercial and public realm enhancements plus options for the re-development of the Brewhouse Theatre.

Lavigne Lonsdale developed the Architectural proposals, by engaging with the local community and Council through a series of consultation events.

Coal Orchard gained planning approval in 2018. The development is now being delivered via a Design and Build contract. Lavigne Lonsdale is therefore, now providing the Technical Advisor role to the client.
