About This Project

Lavigne Lonsdale were asked to prepare and document planning information sufficient to satisfy planning conditions to enable an early start date on site. Successful planning was gained for 123 units over 4 phases of development. All conditions were lifted and work began in November 2012 to clear site. Lavigne Lonsdale have been asked to provide detailed landscape services including hard and softworks alongside product design for main features around the site. Part of the brief was to design a relaxation garden for sales and marketing purposes which has now been completed. A feature entrance gate has also been produced using highly skilled local craftspeople and engineers.

We took inspiration from traditional country field gates and mixed it with some Barbara Hepworth to create this unique design. It successfully integrates highly technical components with traditional craftsmanship. The curved oak, structural lettering and irregular opening of the gates mouth transforms, what might have been ordinary, into a moving sculpture.
