About This Project

Lavigne Lonsdale proposed this design for a competition to design an information pavilion for the 2012 London Olympics.

Our concept explores movement in sports; repetitive directional form that imparts a sense of movement.

MODULAR CONSTRUCTION & LEGACY
Whilst this is a temporary structure, we believe that it needs to be re-used, otherwise it is not sustainable. By creating a building that is segmented and modular, allows ease of both construction and dismantling and then re-use. The dimensions of the segments can be delivered on a HGV and then craned into position. They can then be dismantled and then transported in either separate sections or as a whole to local schools (or other public facilities) for re-use as classrooms, teaching spaces etc.
