Nailsea Glassworks Urban Park

Nailsea, North Somerset

Landscape Architecture
About This Project

Nailsea Glassworks was a derelict glass foundry which sits in the centre of the town and had been derelict for over 100 years. It is also a Scheduled Ancient Monument and was highly contaminated. LL won the competition to design a new park for the site and developed a scheme in close liaison with English Heritage and Nailsea Town Council. The first phase of the scheme was built in 2015 to critical local acclaim and hs bcome a focal point in the centre of the town.

The team are now working on the next phase of the park and have been involved in looking at uses for the adjoining derelict Listed Buildings to form a new Library, community hub and youth centre including a glass blowing studio!
