About This Project

This was an RIBA competition entry for the creation of a new park on the site of an old colliery site near Liverpool. The scheme was based on providing active and extreme sports, including bike trails, pump tracks, rock climbing, adventure play for local people and for the region set within a framework of regenerating woodland, scrub, grassland and wetland landscapes.

The scheme also identified a funding stream for the project based on surcharging the site with inert fill to form the bike trails which would generate over 1m pounds for capital works.

The team included Yellow Book (economic consultants) and Architrail (mountain bike)
